Research focus

  1. Studying host-virus interactions using state-of-the-art technologies, including high-throughput sequencing, genome editing (CRISPR-Cas/TALEN) and genome-wide library scale RNA interference (RNAi) systems;
  2. Molecular pathogenesis of respiratory and enteric viruses, including Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), influenza A virus ,and Enterovirus 71 (EV71);
  3. Studying the regulatory roles of small RNAs derived from host and virus on virus replication and host response.
